“Why risk doing those kinds of stupid things”– Lando Norris slams Valtteri Bottas for the carnage at the Hungarian GP race.
Valtteri Bottas will be taking a five grid places penalty at Spa for wiping out five drivers from the race, including himself at the first turn of the race, which actually benefitted Lewis Hamilton massively.
But Lando Norris scored points in every single Grand Prix this year until Bottas wiped him off the track, which made the Briton highly critical of the Mercedes’ ace.

“Lap one, I don’t know why that has to happen, why do that kind of stupid things? Nothing I could do, so I don’t know what to say. If I get a penalty for not doing anything wrong on other tracks, this should deserve a much bigger penalty than what I got.
“We’ll see – I hope they have some common sense and do what they should do, but it’s not up to me at the end of the day.”
Such a shame, said Sergio Perez.
Along with Norris, Perez was also a victim of the first turn chaos and had to retire from the race, leaving Red Bull with only one driver on the track.
It’s such a shame, and I was already up to the third place,” Perez explained. “I outbraked the McLaren and thought I was well ahead, and unfortunately, Bottas made a big mistake and just ruined our race.
“I don’t know what else to say. It was all over. The engine is damaged. He went all the way into the radiator,” he concluded. Only before the race, Honda had given a new engine to Verstappen.
If they also have to give a new engine to Perez at Spa, they would have to risk suffering grid penalties twice later in the season for the fourth engine on both cars, as they can legally have only three cars in a year, and Verstappen is already on his third, and Perez risk to opt the third.
