“Great interview Simone Biles, you are the GOAT”: Aaron Rodgers Praises Simone Biles After Her Bronze Medal at the Tokyo Olympics
2 athletes who have been all over the headlines recently seem to have mutual respect for each other. Aaron Rodgers sent a heartfelt message to Simone Biles following her bronze medal at the Olympics.
One of the United States’ most popular athletes, gymnast Simone Biles, turned a few heads last week when she took time away from the Olympics to focus on her mental health. It definitely caught some people off guard, considering she won 5 medals at Rio 2016.
Although she missed a few events, she did end up making a return yesterday, winning bronze for the balance beam. It might not have been exactly the outcome she hoped for, but she said it was the most meaningful medal of career.
Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers, who’s been caught up in a media frenzy of his own the past few month with his holding-out drama, voiced his support for Biles’ decision to talk so openly about her mental health.
After her win, she sat down with Mike Tirico and opened up about her struggles, which seemed to impress Rodgers. He took to Twitter to praise both Biles and Tirico.
Great interview @Simone_Biles 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 you are the 🐐!!!!
@miketirico once again proving why he’s the best in the business, listening and letting Simone speak her truth. Very inspiring stuff 💪🏼 #keeptheconversationgoing #mentalhealth #

Simone Biles: “We’ve opened bigger doors and bigger conversations.”
During the interview with Tirico, Biles explained her difficult experience in Tokyo and how she was affected by the “twisties”. “I’m going home in one piece, which I was a little bit nervous about,” she said. “So, I’m not mad. It’s not how I wanted it to go, but I think we’ve opened bigger doors and bigger conversations.”
“Just completely random,” Biles said about the twisties. “I went to do a floor pass and I just got lost in the air and I was like, ‘OK, it was a fluke.’ Didn’t do any more.”
“The next day we had a little practice before team final and I was like, ‘OK, well I have to do that again because that was really weird and it seemed off.’ And then I just could not get a sense of where I was in the air.”
