“Shaquille O’Neal can’t tell the difference between a CAT scan and cat food”: How Charles Barkley continually combats the Lakers legend on NBAonTNT
Charles Barkley doesn’t hold back against Shaquille O’Neal when on NBAonTNT and continues to berate him with hilarious roasts.
The amount of times Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal have gone at each other’s necks on national television is absurd. Though it may seem as though the two NBA legends have it out for one other, Shaq and Chuck have both admitted that they have nothing but love for one another. Shaq even compared his relationship with Charles to the one he had with Kobe Bryant.
Nevertheless, this sense of brotherly love rarely translates while on air on NBAonTNT as quite nearly every single installment of the highly acclaimed show delves into a verbal sparring match between the two.
Shaquille O’Neal almost always hits Charles Barkley with the ‘I have 4 rings to your none’ argument while Chuck usually goes for roasting his appearance and the fact that his voice makes him sound like he isn’t all too intellectual.
Charles Barkley goes after Shaquille O’Neal on NBAonTNT.
Charles Barkley may be roasted for having oddly shaped eyebrows but he certainly returns the favor by going after Shaquille O’Neal and his appearance as well. Everything from him being much bigger than Barkley to having a hairline that makes him look like the ‘black Ernie Johnson’.
In terms of insulting Shaq’s overall wit and smarts, Sir Charles once said to Shaq, “You don’t know the difference between a CAT scan and cat food,” to which the ‘Big Aristotle’ replied, “You’re always thinking about food.”
Many NBA fans believe that the Lakers legend is the one dominating the conversation between himself and Charles Barkley when in reality, the latter can hold his own against him. Overall, Barkley does have wittier roasts when it comes to getting at Shaq and it seems as though O’neal is perfectly fine with the hard-hitting comments.
As previously mentioned, the two Hall-of-Famers have a deep sense of admiration for one another and it’s apparent with the way they insult each other while also enjoying each other’s company while on set
