“What about me?”– Nico Rosberg wanted to write this in the latest post by Lewis Hamilton calling Valtteri Bottas as his ‘best teammate ever.’

Lewis Hamilton wrote a heartfelt post for Valtteri Bottas on social media after the Finn race driver announced joining Alfa Romeo in 2022 on Monday.

The seven-time world champion declared Bottas as his best teammate ever and wished him the best for the future. However, the esteemed tag didn’t go well with Nico Rosberg, who joked about this post in a video posted by ESPN.

In the video, Rosberg says that Bottas was evidently the best teammate for Hamilton, as the former never challenged him. Adding onto the joke, he also confessed that he was about to write “What about me?” in the reply section.

Hamilton and Rosberg were best of friends before their time in Mercedes together took a hostile turn, and the two drivers even refused to see in each other’s eye.

The conflict peaked in 2016 when a five-point gap decided their title race. Eventually, after winning the championship, Rosberg called it the end of his F1 career, and there the rivalry died.

A new era in Mercedes

Nearly 24 hours later, Mercedes announced the signing of George Russell for 2022, and this marks the new era in Mercedes, where they have implanted the 23-year-old driver as their future.

It only remains to be seen how this partnership turns out next year and with whom Mercedes’ strategies will suit.
