Afghanistan all set to make its Test debut against India
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Acting President, Amitabh Chaudhary confirmed the news on December 11 (Monday) that Afghanistan will spice it up in the whites to make its Test debut against India.
Afghanistan made a steep bounce in the cricket development to reach up to his highest level. The meteoric rise in terms of their performance from the base to peak is a proof of the fact that it was a top-level transition.
To highlight the fact that Afghanistan along with Ireland were granted a full-membership status by the International Cricket Council in London, earlier, this year. Afghanistan and Ireland became the 11th and 12th new member Test-playing nations.
Amitabh Chaudhary told that Afghanistan were originally scheduled to make their Test debut against Australia but given the fact that friendly ties between India and Afghanistan are good, BCCI decided to host their first ever historical Test match.
“Afghans were scheduled to play their first Test in 2019 versus Australia but considering the historical relationship between India and Afghanistan, we decided to host their first Test,” said Amitabh Chaudhary as per the recent quotes from Hindustan Times.
When asked about whether there can be a sporting carnival between India and Pakistan in the future bilateral series, Amitabh Chaudhary had a clear-cut answer.
He said that it’s all in the hands of the government to resume the bilateral series. “If the government agrees will make space for India-Pakistan bilateral series,” he said.
