“Joel Embiid wants to team-up with LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard!”: NBA Twitter hilariously ‘confirms’ 76ers star could be part of a big-three come next season

NBA Inside source reports a blockbuster team-up between Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, and Kawhi Leonard could be on the cards

 

Joel Embiid has been having a heck of a run of form, hasn’t he?

This season, the 76ers star is averaging a blistering 28.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1 steal per game. He has also been incredibly efficient, shooting 49.8% from the field, 39.0% from three, and 81.5% from the free-throw line.

Needless to say, those are some damn good numbers. The problem? Well, the 76ers aren’t quite good enough to be considered contenders right now. Not good for a team that is looking to win a championship right now, rather than in the future.

As a result, the franchise has been looking elsewhere for players, who much like Embiid, have been having amazing seasons. And according to Ballsack sports that search brought them to two very specific players.

Now, while their post is clearly a joke, after looking into it, one of the players mentioned could actually be a somewhat viable option if things don’t fall through for the Lakers.

Let’s get into it, shall we?

Now, we won’t lie. The chances of Kawhi Leonard actually going to Philly to make this happen is very, very unlikely. And hey, it only makes sense, right? This is nothing more than a cruel joke after al. However, for a certain Lakers superstar though, things could be a bit different.

LeBron James is still playing incredibly well in this league, but just isn’t in a good situation right now. After all, the Lakers are an abysmal 24-24, only good for 8th in the West. Now, LeBron James is only under contract until the offseason of 2023. So, if he decided that he wanted a change of scenery, he could just demand a trade. And if he doesn’t get traded, he could just wait another season and then move away in free agency.

However, given that the King is already 37, we’d say that if things do fall through, it’d probably be the former situation over the latter.

Things might be good right now Lakers fans, after your win against the Nets. But just how long will it stay that way?
