MS Dhoni’s reason for not having the Indian tri-colour on his helmet
Representing your nation has always been a source of pride for people, as you are representing your country and the hopes and expectations of everyone in it.
Over the course of the last 14 years, MS Dhoni has always adhered to this, and has grown in to an iconic figure for the entire nation. As someone who greatly loves his country, Dhoni has often put the team ahead of his personal obligations through out his career.
One such instance came during the 2015 World Cup, when Dhoni’s daughter Ziva was born when the Indian team were in Australia. When asked if he was going to make a quick return to his daughter, Dhoni famously said that it can wait until after the tournament.
“I have been blessed with a baby daughter. Mum and daughter both are good,” he told reporters.
“But as of now I am on national duties so I think everything else can wait. The World Cup is a very important campaign.”
As a proud India, Dhoni has always taken a lot of pride in representing the nation, and has now revealed why he does not have the tri-colour flag on his helmet. The reason is simple, as Dhoni needs to remove the helmet and while keeping to the spinners.
The law states that any equipment with the national flag on it cannot be placed on the ground, which is Dhoni does not have the tri-colour on his helmet.
This is just a brilliant reason from Dhoni and yet another to love and admire the great man!
