WATCH : MS Dhoni walks out to a huge ovation at Wankhede Stadium
CSK’s return to IPL tonight was a huge event for everyone involved, as the yellow army came back after a two-year hiatus.
The sight of MS Dhoni at the toss was something that really warmed your heart, as even neutrals could not help but smile to see the legendary Mahi back in CSK yellow.
At this stage in his career, Mahi gets a standing ovation at every ground that he goes to, as the Indian fans continue to shower him with love and adoration.
Ever since Mahi gave up his captaincy, the popularity of Dhoni 2.0 has gone through the roof, as people consider it almost a duty to pay homage to the man who changed the face of Indian cricket.
Dhoni took on from Sourav Ganguly and turned the Indian team into champions, with his zenith being the 2011 World Cup triumph in Mumbai.
Mahi’s match-winning world cup six is the stuff of legends, as the boy from Jharkhand became the king of India. Dhoni gets a particularly warm ovation in Mumbai, as the Wankhede erupts whenever they get a glimpse of their world cup winning skipper.
There was a huge contingent of CSK and Mahi supporters at the Wankhede tonight, as the roar of the crowd when CSK won the toss told the entire story.
As he walked into bat, the Wankhede once again stood up and applauded Dhoni, as the CSK skipper got the sort of welcome that is reserved for only the greatest Indian heroes of all time.
