Rohit Sharma opens up on loss to DD
Mumbai Indians are in a Bollywood movie simulation. Their franchise has to be an experiment about how close a franchise’s journey over an IPL season can resemble a Bollywood flick.
Another game, another loss and another tantalising last over finish. Rohit Sharma would have pulled out all his hair by the end of the tournament if Mumbai continue taking games right down to the wire.
And the worst part, they keep losing them, which doesn’t make it fun in any which way.
Rohit Sharma was distraught after the loss, as Mumbai haven’t really played bad cricket in the first three games, it’s just that they haven’t kept their composure in crunch games.
Sharma pointed out Fizz’s two dropped catches which could have ultimately cost Mumbai the game.
“Disappointing not to finish the (three) games. We had a good score on the board today. We could have bowled smarter and used the slower ball better, but credit to Jason Roy for the way he batted. We got off to a great start with the bat, but didn’t capitalize towards the end. There is room for improvement in the fielding department. The catches we dropped could have gone either way. We certainly have the guys to pull things back. We never wanted to lose games like this because we all know it’s critical to win these games. We need to regroup, come out and do better. We have definitely played good cricket in the last 3 games, hopefully we can learn from the negatives and come back stronger against RCB.”
Mumbai will need to get back to the drawing board and get a win under their belt in their next game against the mighty RCB.
