A video of Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed had been doing the rounds since yesterday. In a mall with his child, Ahmed was receiving severe criticism from a fan who went on to call the skipper “fat like a pig“.
After the video went viral, a lot of people spoke against the fan for talking in such a way to a reputed cricketer and uploading such videos on social media. Perhaps, the criticism was what forced the fan to apologize from not just Ahmed but all the people who got offended.
“There’s a video on Facebook and Instagram in which I am saying something [in bad taste] to Pakistan captain [Sarfraz Ahmed]. It was unfair. I want to apologize form my heart to all people who got offended from the video,” the fan was quoted as saying in the video.
He also mentioned that he had deleted the video from his mobile phone and remained unsure of how it made it to the social media. “I hadn’t uploaded the video. In fact, I had deleted it. He [Ahmed] came to me and was very angry [in the mall]. I deleted the video immediately. I genuinely don’t know how it got uploaded and got viral,” he said.
The fan was also vocal about being unmindful of the consequences that would follow. “I am a Pakistani and want to apologize again. I was unaware that the consequences would be so big. I know that you people are very angry at this moment but I hadn’t thought about all this,” he said.
