Nico Rosberg comments on Lewis Hamilton’s form this season
Lewis Hamilton has had a tough start to the F1 season as things have drastically changed after those initial few days in Barcelona, followed by that envious drive in qualifying at Australia.
A few strategy hiccups followed by a serious drop in pace has left Hamilton frustrated and searching for answers.
Mercedes apparently aren’t happy with how the tyres are responding to their machine and will want to get back to the drawing board in order to get their title campaign back on track.
Nico Rosberg is confident that Hamilton will get past this tough phase and come out with flying colours.
“When it doesn’t go perfectly, he starts to lose that edge a little bit and a touch of motivation and then just struggles for a while,” Hamilton’s ex teammate said.
“You have to maximise those races because Lewis always comes back.
“When he comes back, he comes back so damn strong that he’s almost unbeatable. Let’s see what happens” Rosberg added.
When you look at the driver’s standings though, things don’t seem that bad for Hamilton, as he is just 9 points off championship leader, Sebastian Vettel, who was forced to finish 8th in China, thanks to Verstappen going in for a gap that didn’t really exist.
Ferrari too would be a little wounded with what happened in China and would like to get things back on track in Azerbaijan.
Red Bull though would be buoyed by their win in China and with that impressive race speed they could start as favourites in Baku.
However, the initial few races has shown us that expect the unexpected after the lights go out.
