Max Verstappen on season defining Barcelona GP
Red Bull have had a frustrating start to the 2018 season. They were plagued by reliability issues in the opening few races, but the worst ‘reliability’ issue hit them in Azerbaijan, when they found out that their drivers weren’t that ‘reliable’ in a fierce one-on-one battle.
Verstappen has been guilty of making silly mistakes this season, something that has not only cost him but also his team.
Red Bull have also been struggling with their one lap pace and have hence not been able to perform well during qualifying.
However, Verstappen is confident that the new upgrades that will kick in from Barcelona would help Red Bull get more performance out of their car.
He also feels that Barcelona could actually be the defining moment of the season.
“Everybody has done a lot of laps in Barcelona but I’m looking forward to seeing how the cars progress this year. We have many updates coming, hopefully they will be positive and we can be even closer to the front, but of course everybody else will also bring new parts.
“It could be quite a defining moment for the season and I’m interested to see how everyone will perform. I believe our car is very fast, we still need a bit more top speed but hopefully that will come.” Verstappen said.
Verstappen had his first win as a Red Bull driver in Barcelona and will like to bring back those fond memories with a win this weekend as well.
But can he bounce back after that horrific crash in Baku? We’ll have to wait and see.
