Virat Kohli comes up with brilliant statement to describe ABD’s freak catch

The Chinnaswamy breathed with ease in the end as Mohammad Siraj was able to defend 20 off the last over to keep RCB in the tournament.

A see-saw encounter that kept everyone on the edge of their seats was probably the ebst way to bid Bangalore adieu for this edition of the IPL(not because RCB are knocked out, but because this was the last game at the Chinnaswamy this season).

AB de Villiers put up a show for the crowd in both innings, scoring a brilliant 50 whilst batting and then coming up with the catch of the tournament to send the free-flowing Alex Hales back to the pavilion.

While there have been tons of brilliant catches in the IPL, this was something special, a notch better than any other catch.

It’s almost a shame that AB didn’t make it look a lot more dramatic, as it could have been made to look a lot more difficult, had some lesser mortal attempted that catch at the boundary.

Virat Kohli was all praise for AB de Villiers at the post match presentation. The Indian skipper admitted that he had gotten used to such pieces of brilliance from ABD.

“That was spiderman stuff (about ABD’s catch). You don’t do that as normal human beings. I thought it was going for a six but he pulled it off. I though it was going for a six, but he pulls it out, then the jump and then the balance. I mean he can do freakish things but I am used to it now. His shots still leave me in awe but his fielding I am pretty used to now. Need to thank the crowd as it is our last home game. They have been brilliant and the support is something that we are grateful for.” Kohli said.

RCB stay in the hunt for a playoff spot with this win and with momentum on their side, they would be hoping to brush aside RR at Jaipur on Saturday.
