Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Real Madrid: Record
Portuguese paper Record claims that Ronaldo’s decision is final and that he will leave Real Madrid.
Five-time Balon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo’s time at Real Madrid might be at an end. According to the report from Record, Ronaldo will “definitely” leave Real Madrid due to disagreements with club president Florentino Perez over his contract.
Earlier, Spanish site MARCA reported that Real Madrid’s director general Jose Angel Sanchez had a meeting with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes. He told Mendes that the club is unable to meet Ronaldo’s demands of a new, improved contract.
Record’s report says that Ronaldo is unhappy with Florentino Perez, as he feels that the club president hasn’t delivered on his promise. “It’s not about the money, but about recognition,” states Record.
Cristiano Ronaldo hinted at leaving the club minutes after the victory in the Champions League final against Liverpool. In the post-match interview to beIN Sports, Ronaldo said, “It was very nice to be at Real Madrid.” Later, he added, “In the coming days I will give a response to the fans, who have always been at my side.”
Before Ronaldo, Gareth Bale also voiced his concerns over his place at Real Madrid and suggested that he will leave. However, the shocking resignation of Zinedine Zidane might change the situations for both the players.
Record’s report claim that Ronaldo has lost another of his ally at Real Madrid with the departure of Zidane. It is also claimed that Ronaldo is unhappy that the Spanish giants are more concerned about Neymar’s transfer.
