How many overs in Test cricket PAK vs ENG 2nd Test: How many overs left in Day 4 Pakistan vs England Multan Test?
During the fourth day of the second Test of England’s tour of Pakistan 2022 in Multan, Pakistan have managed to let go of a massive advantage right before the lunch break as an intriguingly decisive session of Test cricket awaits fans across the globe.
Resuming from their overnight score of 198/4, Pakistan scored 93/3 in 30 overs in the morning session. With their well-set batters namely Mohammad Nawaz (45) and Saud Shakeel (94) dismissed on the brink of the lunch interval, Pakistan find themselves in trouble as they still need 64 runs to win the match with only three wickets in hand.
Although all-rounder Faheem Ashraf (10) got out in the first half an hour of the day, Shakeel and Nawaz put together a resilient 80-run sixth-wicket partnership.
It was England fast bowler Mark Wood who provided his team with a couple of breakthroughs before lunch. Wood, who took refuge in bowling short to both the left-handed batters, was successful in dismissing them in similar ways as the duo gloved the ball behind the wickets to England wicket-keeper Ollie Pope.
Shakeel, meanwhile, should consider himself unfortunate for his participation in a debatable dismissal. The 27-year old player not only missed out on a maiden Test century but also on guiding his team to a famous victory in only his second match.
How many overs left in Day 4 Pakistan vs England Multan Test?
With five sessions remaining in the match, it is safe to assume that around 150 overs are left for both the teams to force a result. Having said that, considering the situation of the match, it is almost certain that an outright result will be achieved in the afternoon session itself.
Hence, fans shouldn’t worry at all about the overs left in the match. While a victory will bring back the home team into this three-match series, a loss for them will enable England to attain an unassailable 2-0 series lead.
