“Rebirth of Russell Westbrook Is Shocking”: Skip Bayless in Awe of 6ft 4” Brodie’s Reemergence Amid Lakers Downfall
The 2021-2022 season was one to forget for the LA Lakers. The team failed to even make the Play-In Tournament and much of the blame was placed on Russell Westbrook.
Brodie had by far his worst season last year. He was poor, to say the least. However, things are looking different this season.
The Lakers are still looking like a Play-In team, but Westbrook is looking like a man in form. Even Skip Bayless can’t help but be surprised by his resurgence.
Skip Bayless is pleasantly surprised by the rebirth of Russell Westbrook
Last season was a horrendous one for Russell Westbrook. The former MVP averaged 18 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists as a starter in what was an equally horrendous season for the Lakers.
The 2022-2023 season has not seen much change for the Lakers. They’re still pretty bad. However, Westbrook is looking like a new man. His averages have gone down, but he is coming off the bench. Some would even say he looks like his old self again.
His resurgence has been such a feel-good story, that even Skip Bayless is in awe of the same.

Brodie has become a key piece for the Lakers and is a favorite to win Sixth Man of the Year. It certainly would be great to see, given all Russ had been through over the last few seasons.
Russ’ name is still being thrown around in trade rumors
One of the major stories of the pre-season was the possibility of 6ft 4″ Russell Westbrook being traded or cut. However, given his bad contract and form at the time, there were no teams ready to make the trade. But, considering how he has been playing, his name seems to be back in the trade rumors and this time there are a few franchises who are interested.

It will be interesting to see just what happens in the coming weeks. Perhaps we will see Brodie in a new fit.
