Surrey announces Virat Kohli’s County replacement
Indian captain Virat Kohli could not take part in County cricket for Surrey due to his neck injury. The County has now announced Kohli’s replacement.
There was a lot of hype around Virat Kohli’s County stint. Surrey was also very excited and kept no stone unturned in promoting Virat Kohli’s arrival in England. Unfortunately, Kohli picked up a neck injury during an IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad and was ruled out from County cricket.
He was advised bed rest for 2 weeks. This made him unavailable as far as his previous commitments were concerned.

In a bid to improve his record in England and get some practice before India’s all important tour to England, Virat Kohli was supposed to miss the one-off Test against Afghanistan and at least the first T20I against Ireland. Although Kohli was not able to take part in the Test against Afghanistan due to his injury, he has recently passed the Yo Yo test with flying colours and will be available for the two-match T20I series against Ireland.
