“The Kid From Akron”: NBA Reddit Speculates What LeBron James’ Statue Will Say Post His Retirement
LeBron James is both loved and hated immensely. There haven’t been many stars as polarizing as him. But in LBJ’s case, it’s almost a casual deal now. Hate and love are just the reactions to his greatness. And there is no denying the greatness.
In his 20th season, LeBron is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down. But time catches up to everyone. At 38, LeBron is still a freak of nature. However, it’s hard to believe he could still play at the same level three years after. And knowing James, it’s hard to imagine him still playing knowing he can’t perform at his best.
So, at best, we can only hope that he plays a few more seasons. Undoubtedly, his retirement is near. Nearer than it has ever been. NBA fans on Reddit recently speculated what LeBron’s statue would say after he retires.
Fans on Reddit share the best lines for LeBron James statue
Recently, Dallas Mavericks unveiled a statue dedicated to Dirk Nowitzki. Fans on Reddit noted how ‘Loyalty never fades away’ is written under the statue. It’s a perfect line for the German national who played 21 seasons for Dallas and was known for his unstoppable fadeaway.
The fans then went on to discuss what could be written under Bron’s statue post his retirement. Fans believed that one of his favorite sayings, ‘The kid from Akron’ would definitely feature on the statue. Others joked how, knowing James’ love for emojis, his statue will also feature something similar.
Fortunately, LeBron is likely a few years away from retirement
It’s hard to imagine what would be written under LBJ‘s statue. However, the kid from Akron sounds like a very real possibility. It’s a tag that fits perfectly with his career.

But luckily, we won’t see the end of his career yet. The kind of athleticism and explosive strength he has shown proves that LeBron will likely play a few more seasons if he stays healthy.
