“You’re One of the Only Ones to Have My Shoes!”: Ja Morant Makes Young Fan’s Whole Year After Electrifying 38-Point Display
Ja Morant is in the middle of quite the season right now. At just 23 years old, the Grizzlies man is already getting talked up as one of the MVO candidates this season. And frankly, with the Grizzlies sitting first in the Western Conference, it becomes a bit harder to deny.
Recently Memphis came up against San Antonio, a team that can sneakily be very hard to beat on their night.
But while the Spurs tried, Ja Morant quieted them down before it was too late, ending the game at 129-135. As proof of his efforts, the man had 38 points, 5 rebounds 4 assists, and 1 block, on 56% shooting from the field, and 60% from beyond the arc.
But as if the night wasn’t special enough already, the young star decided to try and light up the hearts of all NBA fans.
And it’s fair to say that he more than succeeded.
Ja Morant gives away his Ja 1’s along with his game-worn jersey to a young Grizzlies fan
Ja Morant may be a bit uber-competitive with fellow NBA players. However, that part of him couldn’t fade away any quicker when it comes to his fans.
Morant has always seemed like the type to adore his supporters. However, in the past, he has been just a bit more reserved about it.
However, the man now completely embraces the many supporters he comes across, with young Ellie Hughes being just the most recent one.
Take a look at the tweet below.
Ja Morant gifted 11-year old Ellie Hughes a pair of his Ja 1 sneakers and an autographed jersey after his 38-point game. Morant told her that she’s one of just a few people in the world who have the shoe.

Considering those sneakers haven’t even been released yet, we’re sure young Ellie must be over the moon right now. And of course, a signed game-worn jersey isn’t a bad gift either.
On his day, Ja Morant went above and beyond to make it one of his fans’ days as well.
What is Ja Morant averaging so far this season?
After 33 games played, Ja Morant is averaging 27.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
The man is shooting 46.4% from the field, 31% from deep, and 75% from the charity stripe.
