Real Madrid enter race for Nabil Fekir
Nabil Fekir’s move to Liverpool fell in the final stages on the transfer, and reports emerge that he could now sign for Real Madrid.
Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has stated that Real Madrid have expressed interest in signing Nabil Fekir from the club. Fekir initially was bound for a move to Liverpool, but the deal failed in the eleventh hour.

Olympique Lyon pulled the plugs on Fekir’s transfer to Liverpool, while there were also reports of Fekir being injury-prone, which led to the failure of transfer from Liverpool’s side.
Aulas, however, has merely stated that the club was tired of the transfer saga and Liverpool’s failure in completing the move. In an interview to beIN sport, he talked about Nabil Fekir’s situation at the club.
“Nabil was close to Liverpool, I gave the green light on the move. It didn’t happen because it was taking too much time,” Aulas said.
“Nabil is an exceptional player. When the Liverpool move didn’t happen, lots of clubs revealed their interest in him, not only Real Madrid and their new coach,” Aulas talked about the player.
“Everything is possible, but we want him to stay. But if he wants to leave, we will try and find the biggest club in terms of size and efficiency,” said the President.
When asked specifically about Fekir’s possibility of joining Real Madrid, Aulas said, “The interest of Real Madrid? I believe it’s true. There are no discussions, but I believe that there is interest.”
Jean-Michel Aulas also indicated he is looking for €70m to sell Nabil Fekir.
