$64,000 Las Vegas Grand Prix Hotel Rooms Won't Include Basic Facility For Fans

Formula 1 as a sport is rapidly growing in the United States of America. Ever since Drive to Survive was released in 2019, the sport’s popularity has been on the ascendency, and new fans from the US have been tuning into races on a weekly basis.

Since 2012, the United States Grand Prix in Austin has been a mainstay on the calendar. However, the sport’s growth in America drove the organizers to add more races to the schedule. 2022 saw the introduction of the Miami GP to the calendar for the first time ever. The race was a huge commercial success, with tourists from all over the world flocking to watch the F1 cars race around the Hard Rock Stadium.

Midway into the 2022 season, F1 also announced that 2023 would mark the return of a Grand Prix weekend to Las Vegas. Earlier races in the Sin City did not prove to be very successful, but owing to the sport’s massive popularity right now, the 2023 Las Vegas GP is expected to be huge.

Fans won’t get basic facilities at hotels for Las Vegas Grand Prix

The Las Vegas GP is set to be an exciting event, but also a very expensive one. Tickets for the race aren’t live yet, but fans are already making arrangements to travel to Vegas for the penultimate race of 2023. Some hotels are even charging up to $64,000 for one night.

Former F1 driver Robert Doornbos recently spoke about his experience of booking a hotel for the race, and it left fans shocked. The Dutchman contacted a hotel that was charging a fortune for the weekend. After knowing the price, he wanted to confirm if it included meals to which he learned that breakfast wasn’t a part of the package.

I tried to book a room to attend that GP and requested two nights at Caesars Palace,” he said. “What do you think it costs? ‘$64,000′. After learning about the price of the rooms, Doornbos wanted to opt out of booking it, but out of curiosity, he asked if breakfast was included.

“So I emailed back asking if it included breakfast,” the former Red Bull driver added. Turned out not to be the case, so I told them to leave it alone.”

The Las Vegas GP is set to take place right before the season finale, on 18th November 2023.
