Capri Global Holdings Private Limited: What is Capri Global owner name for Women’s IPL team?
The Women’s IPL is set to start in March this year, and the bidding process of the teams finally took place today. After the process, the 5 teams are now finalized. Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Lucknow will have their teams in the inaugural edition of the Women’s IPL.
Adani Sportsline Pvt. Ltd., who failed to buy a team in the IPL finally bought a team in the Women’s IPL and they were the highest bidders with 1,289 crores. BCCI secretary Jay Shah was delighted after the bidding process.
“Today is a historic day in cricket as the bidding for teams of the inaugural #WPL broke the records of the inaugural Men’s IPL in 2008! Congratulations to the winners as we garnered Rs.4669.99 Cr in total bid. This marks the beginning of a revolution in women’s cricket and paves the way for a transformative journey ahead not only for our women cricketers but for the entire sports fraternity,” Shah tweeted.
Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore will have their representation in the WIPL as well. Indiawin Sports Private Limited (owned by Reliance), JSW GMR Cricket Private Limited (DC owners) and Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited (RCB owners) were successful in their bids. Capri Global Holdings Private Limited are the other owners.

Capri Global Holdings Private Limited
Capri Global Holdings Private Limited won the ownership right of the Lucknow franchise for a bid of INR 757 crores. Capri Global Capital is the parent company of Capri Global Holdings Private Limited. Capri Global are the partners of Gujarat Titans in the IPL, and they won the title last year as well.
Rajesh Sharma is the founder and MD of the Capri Global company. The team name of the franchise will be finalized later on, and there will be an auction as well ahead of the tournament.
Ashok Kumar and Ratanlal Agarwal are the other directors of the company. The popularity of the WIPL can be stated by the fact that the bid of INR 757 crores was the lowest among all the other bids.
