Bhuvneshwar Kumar to miss India’s final T20I against England
Indian team received a big blow before their final game against England today.
Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is likely to miss the final T20I of the three-match series against England with a stiff back. The news has come as a blow to the Indian team, as the series is currently level at 1-1.
Bhuveshwar Kumar was lethal in the previous T20I, as he kept the flow of runs in check with an economy rate of just 5.19.
Earlier, Kuleep Yadav and KL Rahul’s heroic performance led India to an emphatic 8 wicket victory in the first T20I, before England bounced back in the second match of the series.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the latest of many setbacks for Indian pacers for the England tour. Last month, Mohammad Shami failed his fitness test (he passed the test this week). It was followed by Jasprit Bumrah injuring himself during the T20I against Ireland, which ruled him out for all the limited over games against England.
Jasprit Bumrah is also a doubt for the first test match against England, as the injury will reportedly rule him out for four-to-six weeks. Shardul Thakur was called in as his replacement in the ODI series, while Deepak Chahar has filled-in his place for the T20Is.
India made a strong start to their UK tour as the team whitewashed Ireland in the two-match T20I series. With the T20I series against England levelled at 1-1, the final match will take place today in Bristol, and is scheduled to start from 6:30 PM.
There has been no replacement announced for Bhuvneshwar Kumar as of now.
