Inter Milan wants to sign Matteo Darmian on loan
The Italian defender has been out of favour at Manchester United, and now reportedly wants a move out of the club.
Serie A giants, Inter Milan, have reportedly expressed their interest in Manchester United’s defender, Matteo Darmian. However, Inter are only willing to sign Darmian on a loan deal, with a clause to buy him later.
The Nerazzurri are adamant to sign a right-back this transfer window, with primary target Sime Vrsaljko staying at Atletico Madrid.
Inter have another option in Davide Zappacosta of Chelsea, however, with Maurizio Sarri appointed as new Chelsea manager, the Italian might well hold on to his full-back.
That leaves Darmian as the only viable and realistic option available, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that the Red Devils are looking to extend the Italian’s contract to help Inter Milan secure a loan deal.
Darmian’s current contract runs until June 2019, but with a contract extension on the cards, it will be easier for the San Siro giants to sign him on a loan deal, with an option to sign him on a permanent deal later.

It is thought that Manchester United will trigger a one-year extension on Darmian’s current contract, which help Inter loan the 28-year-old.
Darmian just made five starts in the Premier League last season, and has fallen off the pecking order at Old Trafford.
Various reports also confirm that Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, is keen on offloading the Italian full-back, and a move to Serie A might very well be on the cards for Darmian.
