Two Indians accused of spot fixing in South Africa
Two Indian nationals have been identified as being intermediaries in the recent spot fixing scandal breakthrough in South Africa.
A couple of years earlier there was a huge controversy surrounding South Africa’s domestic T20 tournament. Several big players such as Alviro Peterson, Thami Tsolekile, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Jean Symes, Pumi Matshikwe and Ethy Mbhalati were suspended.

Gulam Bodi, a left handed batsman, was slapped a ban of 20 years by cricket South Africa. Not only this, he was also arrested for playing the intermediate between the bookies and the players. Charges were laid under The Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act, which is the South African Government’s law against corruption and bribery.
However, he was released within a few months. At the same time, Bodi was not allowed to move out of the country and could not contact any player.

In the recent development, names of two Indians Manesh Jain and Imran Muskan Shimji, have been revealed who are accused of being involved as playing middleman in spot fixing.
Jain and Shimji have been charged of facilitating the meetings between the players and the spot fixers. They are accused of being involved with Bodi and helped him to meet the bookies.
