What will happen if India lose the Test series against England 5-0
Here is what will change in ICC Test rankings if India lose the Test series against England 5-0.
The limited-overs leg between India and England is over and now it’s time for some Test cricket. Most cricket lovers agree that Tests are the premier form of cricket.
Especially, in countries like England, Australia and South Africa when the subcontinental teams tour, the excitement is something else. After receiving a drubbing at the hands of England during the 2014 tour, now is the time to make a comeback.

It did not help matters that India lost the ODI series against England 2-1. This has given England some momentum moving into the Test series. However, India would like to arrest that momentum and get in the groove as soon as possible .
Meanwhile, there is a good news for all Indian fans. India is currently at the number one rank with 125 ratings while South Africa and Australia at the second and third place with 106 points each .

Now, even if India lose this series 5-0, they would retain their number one spot. The reason behind this is that India and the No 2 ranked South Africa have a difference of 19 points which is a massive difference.
This is why even if India lose, there is nobody who currently has the potential to catch up. England on the other hand are at the number five spot with 97 points. On the contrary, if India manage to beat England 5-0, England will lose four points and would be left with 93 points.
