Luka Modric leaves Valdebebas an hour late amidst transfer rumours
Luka Modric has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid ever since his World Cup heroics with Croatia.
Reports from Sky Sports reveal that Real Madrid superstar, Luka Modric, left training in Valdebebas an hour later than his other teammates, as he made a return to practice after his extended vacations.
This one-hour delay comes at a crucial time in the transfer window, and it might be the player discussing his future plans with the club officials.
There has been a lot of talk around Luka Modric after his brilliant performances in the World Cup this past summer, as he was speculated to make a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu. Serie A giants, Inter Milan, were reportedly very interested to make an offer to the Los Blancos for the Croatian superstar.
Real Madrid, who are on the back of losing superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to another Serie A side, Juventus, are not willing to let go off the 32-year-old.
It was revealed that Modric was uncertain about his future, and might have wanted to move for new challenges after already winning four Champions League title at the club.
However, club President, Florentino Perez brushed aside all doubts regarding Modric’s stay at the club, and claimed that the Croatian will only be sold if any club pays his €750 million release clause.
Nevertheless, Spanish outlet, AS reported that the Nerazzurri’s were willing to offer a six-year contract to Modric worth €60 million over, but the midfielder does not want to leave the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.
Moreover, Marca also reports that Real Madrid have decided to put all rumors of Modric leaving Real to bed, as they will be offering him a pay-rise which will see the Croatian earn as much as club captain Sergio Ramos, and a little less than Gareth Bale.
It will be interesting to see the outcome of this Luka Modric saga which has hyped up over the past few weeks, and reports from Sky Sports on Modric’s unusual delay at the training ground adds more spice to it.
