Former Liverpool star Luis Garcia trolls back Chelsea Twitter account with a fitting reply.

Liverpool will face off Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday. The Reds are currently first in the league table, but they could drop to the second position before they face Maurizio Sarri’s side tonight. On the other hand, the Blues are fighting for a place in the top four and are desperate for three points as four clubs queue up for the third and fourth position, after Liverpool and Manchester City are most likely to cement top two spots.

Since Roman Abramovich has taken over the club in 2004, the Blues have had success than any other English side in the top division. There were plenty of classic games between Rafa Benitez and Jose Mourinho when both the managers were at their respective clubs. The Spanish and Portuguese Internationals, respectively, wrote histories at their home club by landing silverware.

However, Liverpool fans were reminded of the infamous Steven Gerrard slip by Chelsea twitter handle yesterday night as both the sides gear up for this clash. The caption read ‘Did someone say Liverpool vs Chelsea ?’ and posted the video of the Reds legend unknowingly making a mistake which dented Liverpool’s hopes of lifting the Premier League for the first time in 24 years.

Of course, the Chelsea and Liverpool’s rivals fans loved that post coming from the official account. But, the Liverpool legend Luis Garcia could not resist a dig at the Blues for that ghost goal in the Champions League Semifinals.

Chelsea travelled to Anfield for the second leg after a stalemate at Stamford Bridge in 2005. An early shot from Luis Garcia was cleared off the line by the defender William Gallas, but the referee decided to award a goal to Liverpool. It still remains a mystery if the ball had crossed the line or not.

After seeing Chelsea’s post, Luis Garcia, posted exactly the same caption which read ‘Did someone say Liverpool vs Chelsea ?’ and posted the picture of the ghost goal.

Here’s how Twitter reacted..
