Ahead of Game 3 Against Kevin Durant and Suns, Paul George Talks About Draymond Green’s Suspension

The Los Angeles Clippers return home tonight after splitting the games in Phoenix. Taking on the Suns without Paul George, the Clippers took Game 1, but couldn’t withstand the offense in Game 2. While the Clippers prepare for Game 3 at home, so do their North Cali neighbors.

The Warriors are hosting the Sacramento Kings tonight. They’re down an 0-2 hole, after the Dubs lost two close games in Sac-Town. The second game hurt the Dubs a little more as they were making a comeback in the 4th when Draymond Green got ejected.

Now, as it turns out, the league felt like ejecting him for the Sabonis incident wasn’t enough, and they needed more severe punishment. They suspended him for Game 3 of the series, which drew a lot of reactions from people. The latest one to talk about the same is Paul George.

Paul George calls Draymond Green’s suspension ‘unfair’

Just like a lot of NBA players and analysts around the league, Paul George does not agree with Draymond Green’s suspension as well. After all, it was Domas who initiated the contact, and almost tripped Draymond. DG already got ejected from Game 2, potentially costing the Dubs a chance to level the series before heading home.

Many feel like that was an adequate enough punishment. Paul George is one of them. Talking about the whole situation, PG said,

“Unfair, bro. Unfair. Like what do you want him to do? If somebody’s holding your ankle and you’re trying to jump over them and you’re off-balance like… He could’ve f**ked his leg up with that.”

He believes that the league should have either suspended both Dray and Domas, or shouldn’t have suspended any of them. I agree with the view PG has. As Shaq said, the whole incident would have never occurred if Domas didn’t grab the leg.

Now the Warriors head into Game 3 with a disadvantage, while the Kings are whole and at full strength.

Can PG return for the 1st round?

Things aren’t easy for the Clippers as well. They haven’t had any single year in the Playoffs when both their stars are healthy. This year Paul George is out with a knee injury, and was expected to return mid-April or late April, good enough for the first round. However, it looks like the timeline has shifted.

While PG says he’s working his butt off for his return, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN claims that he won’t return for the 1st round. To make things worse, Kawhi Leonard has been declared OUT for Game 3 against Kevin Durant and the Suns.

The Clippers would hope the team can hold on and give them a fighting chance for when Leonard returns.
