Former F1 Honcho Predicts Son of Michael Schumacher Has No F1 Future: “Has To Forget This Dream”

Bernie Ecclestone has recently delivered a startling prediction on Michael Schumacher’s son Mick Schumacher. The former Formula 1 boss stated that the Mercedes reserve driver has no future in the sport.

According to a report by German media outlet RTL, Ecclestone believes Schumacher Jr. “has to forget this [return to F1 cockpit] dream.” To support his statement, the 92-year-old said, “because sooner or later we all wake up from a dream.”

The F1 hotshot added that the young German will have to forget his entry back to F1 in the near future and look for alternative career opportunities and “pursue that.” Notably, the 24-year-old lost his seat at Haas last year after two hard years on the American team.

Ecclestone, however, sees multiple reasons why the former Haas driver will need to forget his dream of an F1 return. Among many others, the Briton mainly sees the absence of his seven-time world champion father with the German driver that landed him in deep waters.

Guenther Steiner revealed the vantage point on Schumacher Jr.

The 24-year-old was shown the exit door by the sole American team in the sport. The move arrived after the German spent two years with the Kannapolis-based team.

As Haas parted ways with Mick Schumacher, team principal Guenther Steiner recently revealed what made him take the final decision to axe the pilot. Speaking at an interview with Sky Sports F1, Steiner said that there wasn’t a single incident that compelled him to make the decision.

The Haas boss added that there were multiple reasons why he was axed. However, the main reason was believed to how costly the German driver was to the team. His crashes in the 2022 F1 season cost the American team over $2 million.

Toto Wolff claimed Steiner would have acted differently in Michael Schumacher’s presence

Toto Wolff has recently revealed that the Haas boss would have treated Mick Schumacher differently if his champion father was with him in F1. Sadly, Schumacher Sr. is still recovering from an unfortunate skiing accident he suffered back in 2013.

On this, Wolff added, “I assure you that if Michael had been there with his son during those two years at Haas, Steiner would not have dared to treat Mick like that!” Furthermore, Ralf Schumacher, the German driver’s uncle also called the move no less than “bullying.”

However, the Haas team principal reverted to the allegations made against him. He said that he didn’t need to bully Mick Schumacher as the 24-year-old was their driver and he spent two full seasons with them.
