Mohammed Siraj and Phil Salt Fight Video: RCB Pacer and DC Batter Engage in Verbal Battle at Arun Jaitley Stadium

Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowler Mohammed Siraj and Delhi Capitals batter Phil Salt were engaged in a verbal battle in Indian Premier League 2023 Match 50 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium tonight. The two cricketers had to be eventually separated by RCB captain Faf du Plessis and DC captain David Warner.

It all happened in the fifth over of Capitals’ 182-run chase. With Salt hitting a couple of sixes and a four off the first three balls of the over, it was enough to affect Siraj’s rhythm. Having opted out of a pull on what would’ve been the fourth delivery of the same over, Salt immediately looked towards the square leg umpire in the anticipation of a short ball getting converted into a wide ball.

Having found success in it, Salt couldn’t help himself but smile at Siraj. Gestures which followed not only involved smiles but also comprised an animated conversation. Salt, who seemed to have started the same, managed to irk Siraj for his change-up delivery didn’t reap the desired results.

The right-arm bowler could’ve also been fuming due to the fact that the first ball of the over went For an unfortunate six from his perspective as Salt’s attempt to nail a pull saw him top-edging a ball over the wicket-keeper’s head. While who said what remains unknown, Salt and Siraj were joined by their respective captains and umpire Rod Tucker at last.

It is noteworthy that Siraj-Salt altercation is the third such instance in the ongoing 16th season of the biggest T20 tournament in the world.

While the first one had happened between Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana and Mumbai Indians spinner Hrithik Shokeen, the second one consisted of two battles between former Royal Challengers captain Virat Kohli and Lucknow Super Giants pacer Naveen-ul-Haq and mentor Gautam Gambhir.
