Playing LeBron James in $25,500,000 ‘Ohio Budgeted’ Biopic ‘Shooting Stars’, Mookie Cook Explains Why Lakers Star Is His GOAT

LeBron James is everywhere. With the Lakers’ season ending in a sweep, many expected not to see Bron for a bit. However, he has turned things up. First, he’s been teamed up with Taco Bell to ‘free’ Taco Tuesdays. He’s been busy with Bronny’s High School Graduation. And on top of all that, he’s also getting ready for his bio-pic ‘Shooting Stars’ release. Tonight he was present at the Red Carpet event. Mookie Cook, who plays LeBron in the bio-pic, called Bron his GOAT during the Red Carpet interview.

Shooting Stars is a project that has been in the works since 2018. It showed up on Ohio Film Office’s website for having applied $7.6 Million as a tax credit(via Cleveland.com). Since Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit provides up to 30% credit, we can expect the film budget, for at least the Ohio leg of the film, to be around $25,500,000.

It is one thing to grow up admiring LeBron James from afar and consider him the GOAT. It is a whole different thing when you’ve played LeBron James in his biopic, experienced some of the things he did, and then come back and declare him as such. Mookie Cook falls in the latter category.

The Oregon signee was selected to play Bron in his biopic Shooting Stars. From initial reviews, we’ve heard that the 18-year-old has done a stellar job. During the Red Carpet tonight, Cook was asked about his experience. He said,

“I mean, Greatest Basketball Player of All-Time. At a young age, he knew he had to be focused.”

Mookie is an 18-year-old, just like Bronny, who is set to join college in Fall. He’s committed to Oregon State, and had even tried recruiting Bronny there.

Just over two months ago, Mookie Cook was sharing the basketball floor with LeBron James’ son Bronny. Both were selected as part of the West team at the prestigious games. Even though their team did not win, the duo put up a good show and earned recognition for their work. Cook had tried recruiting Bronny to become a Duck as well. However, Bronny decided otherwise and chose to join the USC Trojans instead.

Fast forward to today, Mookie walked the Red Carpet with LeBron James. He’s had an eventful year, and it’s only about to get better. Cook was just invited to Team USA Under 19 training camp.
