Twitter reactions as Kimi Raikkonen takes pole and dishes out fastest lap in F1 history
Kimi Raikkonen has broken the F1 record for the fastest lap in F1 history, dishing out a time of 1m19.119s with an average speed of 263.587 kmph.
All through the session, Hamilton was pushing the two Ferraris to the limit, going faster than the duo up until that final sector of the final qualifying lap.
Hamilton was leading the pack up until the final lap, with all three drivers having broken the lap record and it almost felt like, Hamilton would once again steal Ferrari’s thunder in their home grand prix.
Raikkonen’s wife was in tears after the official confirmation came in about Raikkonen’s pole.
Raikkonen too was ecstatic after the win, but emphasised on the fact that the job was only half done. However, he was happy that Ferrari’s home grand prix was the place where he managed to get back to that elusive pole position.
