Jadeja on Dhoni: ‘He is the best footballer in the team’

Jadeja on Dhoni: The all-rounder picked his former captain as the best footballer in the Indian team and also revealed his most-used phrase.

Ravindra Jadeja, Indian all-rounder who was finding it difficult to find a spot in the playing eleven, has made a compelling statement with his recent inclusion during the fifth Test of the ongoing Pataudi Trophy against England at The Oval.

Apart from becoming the pick of the Indian bowlers after taking a four-wicket haul in the first innings, Jadeja scored a fighting half-century to bring India close to the English total. The way he batted with the tail was heavily praised by numerous cricket experts and fans.

Jadeja, who seems to be a jolly being both on and off the field, has often given his fans incidents revealing his hysterical side. In which came as another such incident during a talk-show named ’25 Questions with Ravindra Jadeja’ with Raunak Kapoor for ESPNcricinfo, Jadeja revealed that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the best footballer in the Indian team.

This wasn’t the only discussion about Dhoni. On being asked about one phrase of Dhoni which he speaks repeatedly, Jadeja disclosed an interesting anecdote.

“During the recently-concluded IPL, whenever we used to go to his room, he would always say that humne to maar-koot khaa li, ab dusron ki maar-koot dekhte hain (We have been beaten up. Now it is our turn to watch other teams beat each other up in their respective matches). So, during the IPL, this was one phrase which we had to listen a lot form him”, Jadeja said amusingly.

In a press conference of the ongoing match, Jadeja had also expressed ambitions of representing India in all the three formats of the game once again. Whether that will happen, only time will tell. However, if he continues to bat and bowl like this, you never know if that happens soon.
