“Should Be Celebrated”: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Hails Incredible Effort, Wants All Racetracks to Follow Suit

Despite retiring from active racing several years ago, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has continued his participation in local events. Ahead of the Marty Ward Memorial Locked In 150, fans and fellow competitors were in for a surprise as the Hall of Famer decided to turn up unexpectedly.

Meanwhile, aside from participating in the race at Florence Motor Speedway, Junior noticed something that the track had done really well. Soon enough he took to social media to appreciate the track’s efforts and encouraged that everyone else should soon follow suit.

So what did Junior particularly like about the race track facilities? Well, turns out it had something to do with the barest of essentials – a bathroom facility. You heard it right. Junior posted a picture of the newly constructed bathroom at the racetrack, mentioning, “Raced at @FlorenceMSpdwy this past Friday. The staff works hard to update the facility at every opportunity. New bathrooms were installed this year, with AC.”

He added, “It’s a owner/promoters effort like this that should be celebrated. The short-track scene is challenging. But fans/racers deserve a quality place to compete. Florence is a great example.” While talking about a urinal isn’t something that one would relate a former NASCAR superstar to share over social media, his point made sense for other tracks to provide a respectable bare essential facility to its drivers.

The Locked In 150 had anticipated several names to join the ranks come race day, including the likes of Truck Series driver Rajah Caruth and Cars TOUR driver Brenden “Butterbean” Queen. However, no one had imagined a wild Dale Earnhardt Jr. to show up with his JR Motorsports #3 car on race day.

Speaking about his interesting appearance, Junior told FloRacing, “Well, when the race got moved from Wednesday to Friday, I called my guys and asked them if they were going to go run. They said you ought to run. So I talked to my family and it would mean I would leave a day early for Darlington.”

Junior later added that he spent a considerable amount of time with his children and had to consider the value of taking days away from them. But then he expressed that returning to the place had been enjoyable, and he had forgotten how hot it could get during this time of the year. It was just the love of the track and the favorable timings that led to his decision to turn up for the race.
