“Worst Racing to Watch”: Brad Keselowski Registers Strong Plea With NASCAR After Kansas Race
Different eras in sports bring in different rules and challenges for the athletes, something tangibly visible in NASCAR after the introduction of the Next Gen car. For drivers like Brad Keselowski, who have been around the sport for a considerably long time, these changes and conversations are closer to the mind than in the case of a new driver.
Recently, journalist Jordan Bianchi noted that in the past, fans did not view NASCAR races at Kansas Speedway favorably. However, the situation has since changed, and Kansas is now widely regarded as one of the best tracks on the circuit. Talking about this, Keselowski chimed in too, urging NASCAR to look more favorably toward tracks like Kansas.
Brad Keselowski makes interesting proposition to NASCAR
Keselowski agreed with Bianci’s comments, stating, “We went from 1.5-mile tracks being the worst and road courses being the best races to watch with Gen 6 car: To now, 1.5-mile tracks being the best and road courses being the worst racing to watch with NextGen cup car. Interesting to watch this play out. We need more 1.5”
Agreed.

Interestingly, even Denny Hamlin’s crew chief, Chris Gabehart, joined the debate. He commented that the Kansas Speedway would find the “sweet spot in its pavement life” with either car.
Gabehart also noted that the Michigan Speedway was paved at the same time with the same aggregate, and also emphasized the importance of considering all the details to avoid repeating the history.
Keselowski believes the team had a solid day at Kansas
Keselowski had a really good run in Sunday’s playoff race at Kansas. Although he was not able to get a win, he did end up with a solid top-10 finish. Furthermore, his performances have secured 5th place in the playoff standing, just outside of the tentative final four.
Following the race, Keselowski spoke with the media regarding his race and the final restart, where he mentioned, “We just had a really solid day to win the stage. Good pit call at the end of stage 2 to win that stage and kind of maximized all we had. We were probably a 10th-place car and to get all those points is a good day.”
The RFK team owner and driver did his best during the final few laps of stage two, where he overtook Chase Elliott to win the stage, adding good points to his overall tally.
