Azharuddin’s controversial reply to Gambhir: Former India captain lashed back at Gautam Gambhir regrading his tweet.

The war of words seem to have heated between former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin and Gautam Gambhir, someone who remained India’s highest run-scorer during two of India’s most memorable matches in this century.

Azharuddin, 55, was invited by CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal) to ring the bell ahead of the first T20I between India and Windies at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on the day before yesterday. Watching one of India’s most successful captain to ring the bell at India’s most iconic venue was a moment to cherish for many cricket fans.

That being said, the usually outspoken Gambhir had a different take on this when he posted a tweet on the same day of the match. Watch the tweet below:

 

Apparently Azharuddin was accused of match-fixing during his playing days. However, his BCCI-imposed ban was deemed illegal in 2012. Citing the same in mind, Gambhir took a go at him in his post which saw him criticising bodies likes BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), CoA (Committee of Administrators) and CAB.

While Azharuddin didn’t pass any comment on the same immediately, he also took to Twitter to give a scathing reply to Gambhir. With Azharuddin’s tweet getting deleted at a later stage, it leaves us with questions regarding the genuineness of the tweet. Watch the screenshot below:
