Man Utd fan’s tweet goes viral: A Manchester United fan’s tweet has gone viral after he compared the reactions of Liverpool’s fans towards fouls.

Liverpool proceeded to the round-of-16 of the Champions League after a win against Napoli last night. Jurgen Klopp’s side clinched a narrow 1-0 victory over the Napoli, as Mohamed Salah scored the only goal of the game before Alisson made an incredible save to secure a berth in the next round.

However, Carlo Ancelotti commented on Liverpool’s rash display on the field, and stated that Virgin van Dijk should’ve been sent off.

“I saw the video, it was a red card,” he said. He also talked about the introduction of VAR in the Champions League to decide such fouls, stating that it will be for the benefit of the game.

“When VAR comes in the Champions League, it will be great,” Ancelotti said.

Meanwhile, a Manchester United fan tweeted about the change in the tone of Liverpool fans after they defended Virgil van Dijk’s foul.

A United fan took a dig at Liverpool’s fan after he reacted to the foul by Virgil van Dijk. He took a screenshot of the fan’s reaction after Sergio Ramos fouled Mohamed Salah in the Champions League final last season, and wrote, “Liverpool fans in a nutshell.”

The screenshot showed a contrast in reactions. While the LFC fan severely criticised Sergio Ramos for the foul on Salah, stating his shock at Salah still having his arm unbroken, he wrote, “Football has gone soft,” on van Dijk’s foul at Mertens last night.

The tweet naturally triggered a lot of Liverpool fans, who stated the difference in the severity of the fouls.

Liverpool will host Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday night. Jose Mourinho’s side is currently 6th in the league, and will play their final Champions League game of the group stages against Valencia later tonight.

On their last visit to Anfield, both the sides played a 0-0 draw, while United defeated Liverpool on their return leg to Old Trafford.
