RCB buy Shivam Dube: Royal Challengers Bangalore buy Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube for INR 5 crore.

During the ongoing IPL auction for the 12th season of the IPL (Indian Premier League) at Jaipur, IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore acquire the services of Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube for a whopping INR 5 crore.

Dube, who was priced at INR 20 lakh, was instantly seen gaining rewards of his recent performance and reputation. The 25-year old all-rounder had hit five sixes in a row twice (Mumbai T20 League and Ranji Trophy) in the last month or so, something which played a major factor in him getting such hefty price.

Having already bought hard-hitting West Indies middle-order batsman Shimron Hetmyer and India all-rounder Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Dube is Royal Challengers’ third pick of the auction. Another middle-order batsman, Dube is likely to come in handy for RCB.

Given his attacking instincts with the bat, one expects Dube to whack the white ball from the word go in the upcoming season of the IPL. Moreover, middle-order batsman was one major aspect of their line-up which RCB were struggling with.

Having a stellar top-order comprising of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers for years, RCB’s batting always received a blow when it came at finishing the innings. Hopefully, that issue will get sorted now.

The 25-year old cricketer had made his First-class and List A debut last year. His T20 debut had come a year before in 2016 against Baroda at Mumbai.

A T20 strike rate of 147.65 will make a case for the southpaw featuring in RCB’s starting line-up. Also a right-arm pacer, Dube has it in him to tick some of the vital boxes during the 12th season of the IPL.
