Gary Neville tweet on Pogba: The former Manchester United star was clearly not happy with Paul Pogba’s tweet after Mourinho’s departure.

Jose Mourinho left Manchester United two after the 3-1 defeat against Liverpool. The club announced the departure of the Portuguese manager through their social handles, and released an official statement, thanking him for his services.

However, the announcement was soon overshadowed by a rather mistimed tweet from Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba and Jose Mourinho suffered a fall-out in relationship towards the beginning of the third season, and the situation only grew worse. The Frenchman openly criticised Mourinho’s tactics, and the duo was also seen indulging in a training ground argument in October.

And so, many perceived Pogba’s tweet to be a shade on Jose Mourinho, and justifiably, people criticised the midfielder for it. The tweet was taken down, but people continued to react on it.

Manchester United legend and pundit Gary Neville also tweeted about Pogba’s deleted message.

The Frenchman posted a picture of himself, throwing a rather sheepish smile, with the caption, “Caption this.” The post was deleted later, but it didn’t stop Gary Neville to take down Paul Pogba.

Neville wrote, “You do one as well!,” clearly stating that the tweet was in bad taste.

Jose Mourinho’s last game for Manchester United ended in a 3-1 defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Anfield.

The manager led the club to three trophies in his first season, and a second-place finish in the second. Manchester United won their first Europa League title, and the EFL Cup under Jose Mourinho.

The decision on the interim manager is not yet taken, but it has been reported that Michael Carrick will not take on as caretaker manager of the side.
