Paul Pogba deleted tweet: Reason behind Pogba’s tweet explained
Paul Pogba deleted tweeted: Paul Pogba posted a controversial tweet after Jose Mourinho’s departure, but deleted it within minutes.
Jose Mourinho left Manchester United earlier today. The club announced his departure through their social media handles, and posted an official statement on their website. United thanked Mourinho for his services to the club.
The Portuguese manager won a Europa League title, a Community Shield and EFL Cup in his first season. However, a second-place finish in the second season was undone in 2018/19 as United are struggling at 6th position in the league.
The situation was marred by fall-out in relationship between Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba.
As Mourinho’s departure was announced, Paul Pogba posted a rather mistimed tweet, which was quickly interpreted to be a dig at Mourinho. However, the real reason behind the timing of the post has now been revealed.
Paul Pogba’s deleted tweet:
Following Paul Pogba’s tweet, various fans, journalists and pundits alike joined to criticise the midfielder. Paul Pogba is smiling mischievously in the picture, and the caption is “Caption this.”

The post was made minutes after Manchester United announced the departure of Jose Mourinho. Gary Neville and Piers Morgan attacked Paul Pogba, and Patrice Evra stated that fans shouldn’t indulge in individual attacks, but be together in such a difficult time.
The thing that is annoying me the most right now is why are people so focused on @paulpogba and Jose Mourinho. Let's focus on rebuilding something solid instead of being in a playground. Doing this is only disrespecting the badge, from now we only need positivity. #ManUtd #MUFC pic.twitter.com/ClmWqmgf7G

However, the situation was made clear by Adidas’ representative, Chris Williams. “Pogba’s social media posts were a scheduled event, part of a marketing campaign,” Williams wrote.
Confirmed by contact within @adidassoccer: "#Pogba's social media posts were a scheduled event, part of a marketing campaign. Immediately taken down once it became apparent that it could be misconstrued as disrespectful to Manchester United and José Mourinho"
