Virat Kohli catches Usman Khawaja off Kedar Jadhav: The Indian captain caught a dolly to dismiss the Australian opening batsman.

During the second ODI of the ongoing Australia’s tour of India at Nagpur, India all-rounder Kedar Jadhav brought his team back into the contest by dismissing Australia opening batsman Usman Khawaja.

Jadhav making the breakthrough was the need of the hour as the visitors had started to look dominating in the chase. Chasing a 250-run target, Australia captain Aaron Finch and Khawaja had stitched an 83-run opening partnership.

Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav counted for the first breakthrough in the form on Finch (37) in the 15th over. Jadhav, who was bowling his second over, complemented the specialist spinner by deceiving Khawaja in the following over.

On the third delivery of the 16th over, the southpaw’s lazy prod saw him giving a simple catch to India captain Virat Kohli at cover. In what was another crucial dismissal made by Jadhav with his part-time bowling, the joy of the same was evident from the Indian players’ celebration.

Khawaja, who had top-scored for Australia in the first ODI, ended up scoring 38 (37) with the help of six fours. The 32-year old cricketer would be ruing over the fact that he wasted one more start in the format. Moreover, with Finch already dismissed, Australia wouldn’t have wanted two new batsmen against the Indian spinners in the middle.

After Finch won the toss and chose to field, India scored a mediocre 250-10 in 48.2 overs. Kohli, who came in to bat at No. 3 after the first over, top-scored for India. Registering his 40th ODI century, Kohli scored 116 (120) with the help of 10 fours.
