WATCH: Sebastian Vettel releases emotional tribute for Charlie Whiting

Charlie Whiting’s sad and sudden demise has shocked the F1 community all over. The FIA boss was scheduled to be part of the Australian GP this weekend and had also spent some time with the drivers last night.

He suffered from pulmonary embolism that led to his demise and tributes have been pouring in from all corners.

Sebastian Vettel was asked about Charlie Whiting in the driver’s press conference today and he lauded the great man for his work for the sport and how he always supported the drivers.

Vettel had met Charlie on Wednesday and had also walked with him on the track .

“I spoke to him yesterday and walked for the first couple of corners of the track together with him. Difficult to grasp. He was the drivers man. He was open to everyone at any time. He was a racer. A very nice guy.”

Kimi Raikkonen too was asked about Charlie Whiting and the Finn too came up with a tribute for him, acknowledging all the work that he done for the sport and the drivers and how he would be dearly missed.

The news has absolutely rocked the F1 world, as despite receiving criticism along the way, Charlie was one of the most respected people in the F1 fraternity.
