Robert Kubica explains reason for hitting wall in Australian GP qualifying
Robert Kubica’s return to Formula 1 hasn’t really gone according to plan until now. While the Pole is ecstatic with his return to F1 after that horrific rally accident, he isn’t quite setting the stage on fire, thanks to the clear lack of pace on Williams’ part.
And while things were already bad for Williams and Kubica, they did not quite have the qualifying that could have helped them save a little face.
Robert Kubica hit the wall during Q1, causing him to later lose balance and go onto the grass, thereby ending his qualifying session(not like Williams had enough pace to go into Q2 anyway).
After the qualifying session, while speaking to the media, Robert Kubica took yet another dig at Williams.

Will Buxton interviewed him after Q1, to understand what happened there on Turn 10. Kubica admitted that it was because the Williams car actually worked for the first time during Q1, causing him to touch the wall.
“Fascinating. Kubica admitted that the reason he hit the wall was because, for the first time this weekend, the car worked. So much more grip he could nail Turn 9 and carried so much speed through 10 be smacked the wall.” Will Buxton tweeted.

Williams have been way off pace this season, after having already missed the first two days of testing in Barcelona.
Both George Russell and Robert Kubica will have to drive out of their skins if Williams need to secure any kind of result tomorrow. Meanwhile, the engineers back home in the Williams factory would need work some miracle, if one of the most celebrated teams in F1 are to have any kind of say in the 2019 F1 season.
