Jadeja’s sensational jump saves five runs for CSK: Chennai Super Kings all-rounder was electrifying on the field against KKR.

During the 23rd match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at Chennai, Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja put on display an electrifying fielding effort to save five runs for his team.

It all happened on the third ball of the 14th over when Knight Riders all-rounder Andre Russell hooked a Scott Kuggeleijn deliver. Jadeja, who was fielding at deep mid-wicket, ran to his right in an attempt to grab a catch.

With the ball being hit fiercely by Russell, it looked set to cross the boundary. That being said, it was at this point in time that Jadeja timed his jumped to perfection to throw back the ball inside the ground. This, with him being mid-air, became a source of amazement for all those who witnessed it.

After Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and put the opposition in to bat, the hosts’ bowlers supported their captain’s decision as they restricted KKR to 108/9 in 20 overs. Once reduced to 44/5 in the ninth over, Knight Riders crossed the 100-run mark on the back of Russell’s sixth IPL half-century.

Coming in to bat at No. 7, Russell ended up scoring 50* (44) with the help of five fours and three sixes. With bowling figures of 4-0-20-3, Chahar was the pick of Super Kings’ bowlers. Other than him, veteran spinners in Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir dismissed two batsmen each.
