Ferrari team orders: Charles Leclerc asked to let Sebastian Vettel by in the Chinese GP, with Leclerc not quite happy with the decision
Ferrari have once again used team orders during a race, with the team asking Charles Leclerc to make way for Sebastian Vettel early on in the Chinese GP.
Bottas, who had secured pole position on Saturday, did not get off to the perfect start, with Hamilton going into P1. Charles Leclerc overtook Sebastian Vettel going into turn 1 and kept the gap to a good 2 seconds.
With Ferrari having the pace on straights, they have been making time up on the two Mercedes ahead of them, but amongst them they have not been able to find any distance between themselves.
However, despite all of that, and despite the obvious attempt by both drivers to save their tyres; Ferrari used team orders, asking, Charles Leclerc to let Vettel by.

Charles Leclerc told his team that he was pulling away, but Ferrari still decided to let Vettel by, as he seemed a little faster. However, despite being faster, Vettel was locking up a lot and hence wasn’t able to take any advantage of those team orders from Ferrari.
Leclerc wasn’t quite happy with his team’s decision and wanted them to know that over the radio. His engineer then asked him to focus on the job while they discuss how the strategy should pan out for them.
