Faf du Plessis catch vs KKR: Chennai Super Kings put on display a remarkable diving catch against Kolkata Knight Riders.

During the 29th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings at Kolkata, Chennai Super Kings opening batsmen Faf du Plessis grabbed a brilliant diving catch to dismiss Kolkata Knight Riders’ Robin Uthappa.

It all happened on the fourth delivery of the 11th over when Uthappa’s attempt to play a lofted shot off CSK leg-spinner Imran Tahir saw him mis-timing the ball towards the long-off region.

Du Plessis, who was fielding at long-off, ran 20-25 meter from his position and followed it with a full-stretch dive to catch the ball inches above the ground. Uthappa, who had come in to bat at No. 4 in the same over, ended up walking back to the pavilion on the first ball which he faced.

After Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and put the hosts in to bat, KKR got off to an impressive start on the back of opening batsman Chris Lynn’s half-century.

While Super Kings fielded the same playing XI from their last match, Knight Riders ended up making three changes to their squad. The hosts included Lynn, all-rounder Sunil Narine and fast bowler Harry Gurney in place of Joe Denly, Carlos Brathwaite and Lockie Ferguson.
