Ayesha Curry Steals the Spotlight at the 2024 Baby2Baby Gala in $2500 Upcycled Denim Tanaka Vintage Gown

Among Ayesha Curry’s many philanthropic ventures and associations, Baby2Baby is possibly the closest to her heart. The charity hosts an annual event for fundraising, and Ayesha was one of the showstoppers at their 2024 Gala. Dressed in a Tanaka Vintage gown made of upscaled denim, she made heads turn with the larger message in the attire, her elegance, and her positive presence.

A non-profit founded in 2011 by Norah Weinstein and Kelly Sawyer Patricof, Baby2Baby provides children living in poverty across the country with diapers, clothing, and other essentials.

The charity’s 2023 Gala managed to raise a record-breaking 12 million dollars, allowing it to reach over one million children whose families are forced to make impossible choices daily (as basic as whether to buy food or diapers).

While attending the Gala this time, Ayesha’s choice of dress conveyed a larger message — of sustainability. It struck a chord with those in attendance as well as the ideals of the non-profit organization.

Her gown, priced at $2,500, is the label’s very first piece designed with different blue tones and black Levi’s upcycled denim. It is custom-made, while also featuring a lace-up back that can be adjusted to fit the person wearing it perfectly.

Upcycling denim goes a long way in curbing environmental pollution in the fashion industry. The process of making jeans is environmentally harmful, requiring a lot of water and chemicals. Upcycling also prevents clothing from ending up in landfills.

Ayesha has always stood for environmental conservation. In 2016, she gave an interview on how she, as an individual and working mother, reduced her carbon footprint in the kitchen. Eight years on, her choice to wear an environmentally friendly red carpet outfit shows that she does practice what she preaches.

The Gala honors a celebrity mother every year. Vanessa Bryant was honored in one of the past editions. The 2024 Gala was in honor of actress Charlize Theron. Ayesha, who’s listed as an ‘Angel’ on their website, was celebrated too.

The star-studded event also saw a slew of big names in attendance, from 13x Grammy-nominated singer Katy Perry to Victoria’s Secret Supermodel Heidi Klum.
