Kieron Pollard controversy vs CSK: Mumbai Indians batsman was seen objecting against the umpire regarding wide-ball controversy.

During the final of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings at Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians batsman Kieron Pollard was seen objecting against umpire Nitin Menon regarding a wide-ball controversy.

It all happened on the third delivery of the last over after Menon didn’t ruled a decision against Mumbai. In what would have been generally a wide ball, umpire signaled it as a fair delivery because of Pollard moving towards the off-side.

The 32-year old cricketer had did the same on the previous delivery off Chennai all-rounder Dwayne Bravo. While the previous delivery was clearly not a wide ball, the latter should have been declared as a wide ball.

After throwing his bat in the air, Pollard reacted by standing on the wide ball mark. Just when Bravo was running to deliver the ball, Pollard moved further on his right which forced the umpires to abort the delivery.

Soon, both Menon and square leg umpire Ian Gould were seen talking to Pollard. In what could have converted into a major controversy, it wasn’t to be as the game resumed shortly.

After MI captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat, his team ended up scoring a mediocre 149/8 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Pollard, who came in to bat at No. 6 in the 13th over, top-scored for Indians scoring 41* (25) with the help of three fours and three sixes.

With bowling figures of 4-1-26-3, CSK new ball bowler Deepak Chahar was the highest wicket-taker for the defending champions.
