While the Indian players are coming on the back of a grueling season of the Indian Premier League, Head Coach Ravi Shastri has witnessed the cash-rich league as a viewer. Not associated with any IPL team, Shastri now finds himself in the midst of attention with the looming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

“I think we have got all bases covered. Last thing you want is passengers on the tour. You want to have in those 15 players who can play anytime, at any given time. If there is a major injury to a fast bowler, there will be a replacement almost straight away,” Shastri was quoted as saying.
Being asked about the preparations for the tournament, Shastri highlighted that it is the four-year gap which prepares team for such a tournament.
“In these big tournaments, you go with the flow, you react spontaneously to different situations and the four years that have gone in between the World Cup, that’s what prepares teams,” Shastri said.
